Preparation

Isaiah 40.3
A voice cries out:
Turn toward the barren wilderness of the Jordan and you will find Jacob’s stairway to heaven.
My presence will appear
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh will seat together

הִנְנִ֤י שֹׁלֵחַ֙ מַלְאָכִ֔י וּפִנָּה־דֶ֖רֶךְ לְפָנָ֑י

Malachi 3.1
I am sending My messenger to clear the way before Me
The Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple

The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight
behold he is coming says the Lord of hosts….

The people of Israel were listeners of the words of the prophets
They were waiting for the Messiah to be revealed
They were waiting for the stairway to heaven to be revealed again as it was to Jacob.

How do we prepare today?
The people flocked to a man in the wilderness eating locusts and wild honey clothed in camel’s hair. Their ears were open, their hearts were prepared….

“the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand….”

King Saul

1 Samuel 15.22-23

The Lord gave King Saul specific instructions to destroy Amalek as punishment to what they did to Israel. To spare no one including their livestock.
The King disobeyed.

מְרִי
Rebellion. To provoke by defiance. To disobey what you know is right.

פָּצַר
Stubbornness. Presumption. Saying to yourself “I know better than you”

“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of divination,
and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
he has also rejected you from being king.”

G-d reveals in his word what is right and true. Do we listen and obey or do we think we know better than Him?

King Saul was removed from office and replaced by David.

Why did Saul disobey? The answer is in the next verse;

“because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.”

He listened to the people putting pressure on him and not the word of G-d

נֵ֣צַח יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

I Samuel 3.10

דַּבֵּ֔ר כִּ֥י שֹׁמֵ֖עַ עַבְדֶּֽ

These are the words of Shmu-el (listener of G-d) the prophet Samuel. These were the first words uttered to G-d from his lips
“Speak , for your Servant is listening”

This is the prayer for us all
These words we should not forget

וְלֹֽא־הִפִּ֥יל מִכָּל־דְּבָרָ֖יו אָֽרְצָה׃

” no words fell to the ground” 3.19

Samuel cherished the Words of G-d. Every word He uttered was kept in his heart. Non were lost or cast away.

“And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him”

Why

A friend of mine was over for dinner, a minister. He told a “Jewish joke”. Harmless.
Could not stop thinking about it. 1,200 Israelis brutally murdered a few weeks ago. Not good timing. He knows I am Jewish.
How many Christians have this mindset: “the Jewish people rejected Christ as Messiah and are suffering the consequences …” the inquisition, the holocaust, Hamas…..
Perverted, distorted thinking at best.
G-d made a covenant with the Jewish people. Nothing can change this.

Isaiah 54.10

For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Until the world comes to an end…the covenant and His love for the Jewish people will not end.

The never ending battle against the Jewish people is a SPIRITUAL battle. Evil pursues them. The battle is against Torah, against G-d, against Truth, against His covenant, against his Messiah. The fruit of evil is always destruction and murder and perversion of truth.

The Land of Israel will always be the land of the Jewish people. G-d ordained. It will never be taken from them.

“And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Psalm 122 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they be secure

Zechariah 12 The burden of the word of the Lord for ISRAEL…
IN THAT DAY (yom ha yom ) I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the people:

ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH SHALL GATHER TOGETHER AGAINST IT

The strength of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be in the LORD OF HOSTS their G-d

IN THAT DAY I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
And I will pour upon the house of David the spirit of grace and supplications and they
will look UPON ME….whom they pierced….and shall mourn for him, as one that mourns
for his only son (meshiach)
Zechariah 14

For I will gather all nations AGAINST JERUSALEM to battle
the women ravished, the city taken….

THEN SHALL THE LORD GO FORTH
AND FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS
AS WHEN HE FOUGHT IN THE DAY OF BATTLE

AND ALL THE JEWISH PEOPLE WILL SING 14.9
” and the Lord shall be king over all the earth …in that day there shall be ONE LORD
and his name: ECHAD….

G-D is faithful to his people and NEVER let them go. He and He only gave them the land of Israel. It shall never be taken away from them. The future of Israel has been recorded in the book of Zechariah. No one can change it . No one can stop a thunder storm, or an earthquake, or lightning, or a drought. Turn to the Words of G-d .

Sh’ma Torah

Treasure seeking….covenants (B’Reit)

B’Reit Shlome
There are so many covenants that G-d wants us to share and and trust in and rely on….

Isaiah 54.10

” For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed;
but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of peace
be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee”

“whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life, righteousness and honor.”
Proverbs 21.21

Man’s Greatest Curse: Isaiah 65.2….Man-kind being left alone with only “their thoughts”
“For My thoughts are NOT your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways
Saith the LORD…for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are
my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts…” (Isaiah 55.8)

Shma: “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
and I will make an EVERLASTING COVENANT with you, even the sure mercies of David….
Behold I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commandeer to the people…
nations (goy’im) that knew not thee shall run unto thee
because of the LORD thy G-d, and for the Holy One of Israel (Kadosh Israel) for He hath glorified thee”

Isaiah 55.3-5

“When I called you did not answer, when I spoke you did not hear…..” Isaiah 65.12

“Virtue Signaling” ….. Wearing a badge that says: I care, I am good, I am obedient. What can we do to be “righteous” before G-d?
Religious deeds? “All our righteousness are as filthy rags” Isaiah 64.6
G-d says that this is the heritage of the LORD ( Avdi Adonai):
“YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is OF ME”

Shma Verse: Isaiah 55.3 ” Incline your ear and come to me
HEAR AND YOUR SOUL SHALL LIVE”
“seek the LORD while he may be found
and call upon him while he is near” How much time do we spend reading and
studying His words?

The Basis of Sin( Avone in hebrew: means to distort/twist or pervert) can be found in Isaiah 65.5
“Come not near to me for I am holier than thou”
These are the words of man to G-d! ….” I don’t need you, I can do fine without you, I know everything already”….

Prophesy of the month:
Six hebrew words found in the 1st verse of Isaiah 64:

“Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down,
that the mountains might shake at thy presence…”
Hebrew word for “rend” (karata) is the same word for tearing cloth when one is in deepest agony
Hebrew word for “come down” (yearata) means to lower yourself into enemy territory

“And behold the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quake
and the rocks rent…and they feared greatly saying Truly this was (Ben Adonai)”

Pesach 2021

Concentrating on three passages that all have amazing connections. Zechariah 9.9, Genesis 49.11 and 1 Samuel 9.3-10. To really understand these passages you have to read them! Torah is so amazing. All words are linked together over a period of thousands of years teaching hidden messages about life and the future but only for those who listen (Shma Torah)
” Rejoice greatly” O daughter of Zion: SHOUT…Oh daughter of Zion…behold your King comes to you. He is just and brings salvation, Humble and riding on the foal of a donkey…upon a colt of an ass.”
Zech.9.9

The hebrew word for “ride” (racav) is the same word as Chariot. This king would come not as the Egyptians riding chariots but He was to ride in complete humility. The Donkey was the animal of PEACE and HUMILITY unlike the horse which was an animal of war and pride. There are two different hebrew words for donkey used. The first is (Chamor) and is the same word as “Homer” which was the he brew measure of capacity….to heap as much of what you are buying into the measuring container…the donkey you could heap as much on him and he would carry it…that is why the words are the same. “Even the foal of a dokey”…the hebrew word is (Yee-ear) which translates to a young newly broken young ass that has just been broken with the heaviest of loads”

Where do we see the Hebrew word again in Torah for Donkey? (At-note)….

Genesis 49.10-12 “The setter shall not depart from Judah….until Shiloh comes, and unto HIM
shall the gathering of the people be.
Binding his FOAL unto the VINE, and his ASS’S COLT unto the choice VINE
He washed his garments in WINE and clothes in the blood of grapes….”
The Vine (Gephen) is bound to the Foal
The “Choice Wine” to the female donkey

Why was the first miracle of the one called “Yeshua Ha Masiach” the turning of water into “choice wine”? Why on his last PESACH did he enter Jerusalem riding upon the foal of a donkey in humility?

The 3rd passage that links these together with the word for Donkey is 1 Samuel 9.3-10. The first King chosen by God was Saul. He gave the Israelites the King they wanted…” a choice man, a godly person” How did Samuel find him? He was searching for his fathers lost female DONKEY!!! He never found the donkey but was found by God.”

Yom Kippur 2016

I grew up in a sea of antisemitism. My father who is still alive fought against Adolph Hitler who had a worldwide mission to annihilate and exterminate all Jews throughout the world . My grandfather had to change his name from Jacobs to Landry so he could get a job in Boston because business owners would not hire Jews. I was accosted, confronted, ridiculed throughout my childhood for being a Jew. Antisemitism prevailed. It has not disappeared, it has just gone underground somewhat .

Yom Kippur. The most sacred Jewish holiday. The pinnacle of Judaism. The highlight of the entire year. The one day that all Jews gather and pray and stop working around the globe. They gather and confess sin together as a group, to pray and mourn with each other. The one day that every Jew refrains from working and turns to their creator in humility.

In college I studied religions. I had never read the new testament. It was the story of a rabbi Yeshua. He was also persecuted. I didn’t really like religion. Neither did he. He hung out with ordinary people. Those were the people I liked to hang out with. He worked as a carpenter….my great grandfather was a wood carver. He interested me. I began to study and read his story and ask questions. Why were Jews forbidden to read this mans story? Why had people persecuted his own people in his name throughout the centuries. Made no sense to me.
Re-reading my Bar-Mitzvah led me to Zechariah 2-3. “Sing and rejoice oh daughter of Zion…I will be aroused from my Holy Habitation and come to earth and dwell among your midst…and the Lord of Hosts will send me unto you” . God was to come to earth. He was to dwell among us.

An entire host of religions…Catholicism, Protestants, Methodists, Episcopalians, Lutherans….Most all my friends fell into one of these. Jews were outcasts. Foreigners. The president of our country whom my father had served under really was not concerned about their destruction. He was pressured into the war. He had known years before what Hitler was doing. It really did not concern him.

I attended church because the pastor was from England. I liked the English accent. The English always sounded so intelligent. I did not feel intelligent. I was from Quincy. A blue collar town outside of Boston. A town of workers. A town of heavy drinkers and brawlers. A salt water town. Smells of the sea, listening to the fog horn throughout the night. Hearing the subway train in the distance soothing you to sleep at night. I wanted to hear more about this Jewish man who claimed to be the Messiah. I liked the people at the church. They had a small group Bible study on the 3rd floor at Webster the dorm I lived in at UMass. I was interested in this other book that gave the accounts of this Jewish man Yeshua who claimed to be the Messiah whom the Jews were hoping would come.

Why was there never a word about Yom Kippur? Why did they hate Jews so much? Why were these religions so against Jews and yet their leader was Jewish. Why were they so anti-Semitic??

Yom Kippur. A time to dress in your best clothes. To walk to Temple Beth El. The wealthy and important Jews sat up front in the nice cushion seats. We sat in the back in the uncomfortable metal card chairs. Most of the service we stood. We sung and confessed sins together. We prayed and swayed and cried deep down. We knew most everyone there. The Bernstein’s, the Michaelson’s, the Katz’s, the Goldfarb’s, somehow we all seemed related and had similar stories of how our grandparents or great-grandparents got kicked out of some country because they were Jewish and ended up in Boston.

He was Jewish. He attended synagogue. He went to Yom Kippur service every year of his life.
He knew who he was. He was to be the Sacrificial Goat and the Scape goat. He was Yom Kippur. He was to be the eternal High Priest standing before God for his people. He understood Yom Kippur. He was to be the Ransom. He was to be our Yarmulke . He was to to be sent into the wilderness with all our sins upon him. He was to suffer separation and isolation. He was to be Issac. He was to be the Ram. The holiday was about Him. It was Him.

They were thrilled that a Jew had come to believe in Yeshua. They wanted me to become a member. I always felt uncomfortable. I never really liked religion. They talked about Baby Jesus. They liked huge crosses. The bigger, the better. This Jew had to die. It was their doing. The Jews rejected him and now he is ours. He is no longer Jewish. He is now baby Jesus. And Christmas trees and Tinsel and Eater Eggs and Fun and not Jewish anymore. Yeshua was not Jewish anymore. He had become a Christian.

“Behold I stand at the door and knock….if you hear me and want to know who I am let me in and I will come into your life and reveal myself to you”

I confessed my sins. Yom Kippur, Passover, they all made sense. It was about Yeshua. He rose people from the dead. They never found a body. He came to show us truth about the future. He came to give us hope. He loved his people and came to his people. When I asked him to come into my life and to show me if he was real my life changed. I could not deny this. I began to read Torah. He gave me life and understanding.

New Life…2/14/2016

About to start this blog when the unexpected happened….did surgery all morning, worked out at the gym then began appointments when I started having severe chest pain, began loosing consciousness, and called 911.  This could not be happening to me.  I am too young and health conscience and work out every day and eat right!  Well it happened…. an acute blockage to my left descending coronary artery….the “widow maker”!   If it were not for the quick acting team at BayState Medical in Springfield, Massachusetts I would not be starting this blog! Here it is two days later and I am not only starting this blog but just got back from a long walk in 9 degree weather and feel great!

Psalm 115

“Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory….But our G-d is in the heavens: he does whatever pleases him…the dead praise not the LORD neither any that go down into silence. But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore”
